a second life earned at height.
Michael Barry found a new direction in hazardous tree removal after a difficult upbringing and time in prison. We made a short film about the man behind the work: the skill, risk, and resolve it takes to build a life on his own terms.
Stihl tools appear where they belong—in his hands, as part of the work. The film shows how a brand can become part of an individual story without taking the story away from the person who lived it.

The story
Michael Barry’s past is part of his story, but it does not define the film. We followed him into the work he does now: hazardous tree removal, where experience, judgment, and trust matter every day.
Our approach
We built the film around his voice and the physical reality of the job. The tools, the trees, and the people working alongside him give the story its setting. Stihl imagery enters through that setting, as part of the world he works in.
We see separate trees, but the soil holds a single, connected forest.
Through fungal networks, trees exchange biochemical signals to warn neighbors of impending threats.
